English Version DIRECTIVAS PROVISORIAS DEL ILAP PARA LA FORMACIÓN PSICOANALÍTICA
El Instituto Latinoamericano de Psicoanálisis formará Psicoanalistas a ser propuestos como Miembro Directos de la Asociación Psicoanalítica Internacional, fundada por Sigmund Freud en 1908. Su área de acción son los países de Latinoamérica que no disponen de Sociedades psicoanalíticas componentes de la API-FEPAL. Los interesados en formarse como Psicoanalistas de la API tienen dos opciones para su formación:
a) Ser aceptados por un Instituto de Psicoanálisis de la API existente en cualquier otro país y cumplir con los requisitos que tenga ese instituto a los efectos de transformarse en Miembro de esa Sociedad afiliada, lo que lo hará, por extensión, Miembro de la API. Para ello deberá trasladarse a hacer la formación a ese otro país.
b) Ser aceptado para su ingreso en el Instituto Latinoamericano de Psicoanálisis –iLaP- para una vez cumplida la formación ser propuesto como Miembro Directo a través del Comité Ejecutivo de la API.
El ILAP seleccionará para el ingreso, brindará formación y propondrá a la membresía directa a la API a aquellos candidatos que hayan cumplido satisfactoriamente su plan de formación.
Fundamentos de la Formación.
El ILAP comparte los fundamentos generales y principales que siguen todos los institutos de formación de la Asociación Psicoanalítica Internacional, más allá de las variantes cuantitativas y/o cualitativas entre ellos. Esos fundamentos compartidos, que surgen en el Instituto de Berlín en 1920, se basan en la articulación de tres elementos principales:
a) El análisis personal del candidato
b) La formación teórica en Seminarios,
c) La supervisión del inicio de la práctica psicoanalítica. A diferencia del entrenamiento en otras disciplinas, en el Psicoanálisis el análisis personal, en el cual se pasa por la experiencia de develamiento del inconsciente, es una condición necesaria y previa a la formación teórica y clínica. No obstante, el carácter singular y privado de esta experiencia analítica determina que no haya ninguna relación institucional ni informal entre el analista personal del candidato y el ILAP con respecto a su formación. El ILAP solo exige un mínimo de elementos formales de ese análisis: a) Que sea con analista habilitado por el ILAP para esa función; b) que se realice en alta frecuencia, lo que en términos habituales (no en análisis concentrados) significa una frecuencia de tres o más sesiones semanales, cada una en un día diferente y con una duración entre 45 y 50 minutos; c) que se mantenga durante la formación en el ILAP por lo menos hasta tener aprobada la primer supervisión curricular.
El ILAP se esforzará en brindar y exigir aspectos básicos para que alguien se forme como analista, tanto en el análisis personal, como en formación teórica y clínica. Se entiende que la actitud personal de formación en todas las áreas referidas es un compromiso permanente de todo Psicoanalista. Por esta razón a los análisis personales requeridos no se les fija una fecha de terminación, pues se entiende que ésta es una cuestión que corresponde decidan analizando y analista en el análisis. En el mismo sentido se entiende que aquellos que finalicen la formación en el ILAP y se transformen en Miembros Directos de la API, formando primero un grupo de estudio de la API y luego una sociedad provisional y finalmente definitiva, tendrán incorporada una actitud de formación permanente. Eso implicará la supervisión de casos de análisis, la presentación de materiales clínicos para su discusión grupal o en eventos regionales e internacionales, la actitud de interés por la lectura de trabajos y libros sobre Psicoanálisis así como la presentación de trabajos psicoanalíticos y, una actitud personal de investigación de su inconsciente, renovada cuando sea necesario con la ayuda de re-análisis.
Ingreso al ILAP
Se entiende que el interés por formarse como Psicoanalista tiene que estar basado en un cierto conocimiento de lo que implica el Psicoanálisis, su práctica, así como los motivos personales que quedan concernidos en ese interés.
El interesado deberá tener un título universitario que, según la legislación de cada país podrá o no acotarse solo a graduados en medicina y psicología.
Deberá referirse formalmente a la secretaría del ILAP en carta al Director Asociado de Formación dedicado a Admisión, y Análisis de Formación y Préstamos. Podría tener así una o más entrevistas de tipo informativo sobre la formación y la práctica del psicoanálisis y sobre como podría encarar su análisis individual, en el sentido de orientarlo con las formas posibles de acceder a un análisis que cumple con los requisitos del ILAP, así como de informarlo sobre posibilidades de préstamos u otras facilidades que lo hagan viable. En esas entrevistas el Director Asociado referido podría tener elementos formales o personales del interesado que le permita orientar o reorientar la demanda.
Una vez comenzado el análisis personal y a partir de un año de transcurrido el mismo, el aspirante estará en condiciones formales de pedir al Director Asociado referido (Admisión y análisis personal) entrevistas de admisión al ILAP. Dicho Director Asociado designará dos analistas didactas del Consejo o del Staff ILAP para realizar esas entrevistas. Se entiende que el ILAP fija un año como tiempo mínimo de transcurrido el análisis personal a los efectos de estar formalmente habilitado a pedir entrevistas de admisión al Instituto, pero que la decisión será tomada, sustantivamente, por lo que el interesado decida luego de trabajar esa decisión en su análisis. Análisis personal
Los análisis autorizados por el ILAP deberán reunir las siguientes condiciones:
• Ser realizados con Analistas en Funciones Didácticas en Instituciones componentes de la API y autorizados por el Consejo del ILAP o ser realizados por analistas que tienen la función didáctica otorgada por el Consejo del ILAP.
• El Consejo del ILAP podrá otorgar la función didáctica a un analista miembro de la API en condiciones que el Consejo estudiará y determinará en cada caso las condiciones y los plazos de su otorgamiento.
• Los análisis serán de alta frecuencia y en consideración de las realidades existentes en los institutos de formación de la API, de los modelos actualmente vigentes en ella, así como de la experiencia latinoamericana al respecto, se entiende así una frecuencia no menor a tres sesiones semanales, recomendándose, si es posible, una frecuencia aun mayor, al menos en parte del análisis. Más allá de las situaciones contextuales que lo dificulten, un Psicoanálisis requiere constituirse en una experiencia intensa, en transferencia, lo que inevitablemente implica la alta frecuencia semanal, la continuidad y la prolongación en el tiempo.
• Las sesiones durarán entre 45 y 50 minutos y se realizarán en días diferentes. Las dificultades de instrumentación de un análisis con estas características en países donde no existen instituciones de la API y, por lo tanto, sin analistas de la API en funciones didactas instalados en esas ciudades y países, han generado diferentes experiencias internacionales de análisis concentrados, extra-situ viajando el analizando o viajando el analista a la ciudad del analizando –in situ-.
En todos los casos, estos análisis serán realizados por analistas en funciones didácticas en la API y autorizados por el Consejo del ILAP o por analistas Miembros de la API que el Consejo del ILAP les otorgue la función didáctica a esos efectos. Esta función del consejo es necesaria a los efectos de viabilizar los análisis cuando no hay otra posibilidad por las condiciones inaugurales donde se realice esta formación.
Los análisis concentrados podrán realizarse de acuerdo a las normas establecidas por la API teniendo en cuenta los antecedentes en latinoamérica y en el Instituo del este europeo (PIEE). Las sesiones tendrían una duración de entre 45 y 50 minutos cada una, se podrán realizar hasta dos sesiones diarias no contiguas y se deberán tener no menos de 100 sesiones por año. Seminarios
Una vez que un aspirante es aceptado y registrado como candidato a psicoanalista del ILAP, está en condiciones de comenzar a cursar Seminarios Teóricos y teórico-clínicos.
ILAP realizará Seminarios presenciales en los países o zonas cercanas a donde se encuentran sus candidatos. Estos se iniciarán en jornadas presenciales intensas que luego serán continuadas por otro módulo con sistema de educación a distancia (on-line y vía audio-conferencias o audio-video-conferencias). Cada seminario tendrá una alternancia entre lo presencial y la larga distancia.
El total de seminarios teóricos y teórico-clínicos será definido en el Plan de Seminarios, el cual será establecido por el Director Asociado de Formación en Seminarios y Cursos para cada año lectivo.
Se realizarán Seminarios presenciales de formación también durante las Escuelas de verano-invierno y en jornadas intensivas organizadas por institutos de Psicoanálisis de las sociedades componentes de FEPAL-API. Evaluación de Seminarios
Los docentes evaluarán el compromiso, lectura y rendimiento de los candidatos durante cada seminario. En cada Seminario (módulo) el candidato realizará una “Nota” que consistirá en una reflexión sobre un punto o pregunta que él elija para desarrollar en forma escrita (tres a seis paginas). Estas notas de reflexión serán evaluadas por cada docente.
De la actuación en el Seminario y de la Nota escrita el docente realizará una evaluación final del seminario para cada candidato que consistirá en un concepto sobre la actuación, una conclusión: aprobado o no aprobado y, si considerara necesario, recomendaciones. Esta evaluación será comunicada al Candidato y enviada al Director Asociado de Formación en Seminarios para ser Archivada en la carpeta del candidato respectivo.
Los seminarios no aprobados no serán considerados a los efectos del cumplimiento del currículo. La no aprobación de dos seminarios implicará la revisión del Consejo para considerar la formación de ese candidato. Supervisiones
Una vez ingresado al ILAP, registrado como Candidato y aprobados cuatro seminarios teóricos, el candidato podrá solicitar al Director de Formación en Seminarios y Supervisiones el comienzo del primer análisis curricular supervisado. A esos efectos el Director Asociado designará dos entrevistadores del staff o el Consejo del ILAP para que entrevisten al Candidato y evalúen la conveniencia o no de comenzar en ese momento la primera supervisión curricular. Se requerirán dos supervisiones curriculares de dos análisis a una frecuencia no menor de tres sesiones por semana con sesiones de entre 45 y 50 minutos separadas en los días. Las supervisiones serán semanales, a través de encuentros presenciales, no inferiores al 30% de un total de ochenta horas (dos años lectivos) para cada supervisión (un mínimo de veinticuatro horas presenciales que podrán ser realizadas en cortos períodos intensivos). Uno de los análisis supervisados será de un adulto con estructura psíquica neurótica. El otro podrá ser de otro paciente adulto o adolescente.
En el caso de que el candidato quiera realizar la formación en Psicoanálisis con niños, deberá realizar una tercera supervisión con un niño, a tres sesiones semanales durante un año de duración (cuarenta supervisiones entre presenciales y vía audio).
Evaluación de las supervisiones
Cada supervisor realizará una evaluación conceptual de la supervisión y dará un resultado: aprobada o no aprobada. El candidato presentará al Director Asociado de seminarios y supervisiones un material clínico de uno de los dos análisis supervisados que realiza, con comentarios. La presentación consistirá en una breve presentación de las entrevistas de inicio del análisis, de la historia vivencial significativa a los efectos de la exposición y transcribirá una o hasta dos sesiones completas, la (o las) que luego comentará. No excederá las diez páginas. El Director Asociado de Formación en Supervisiones una vez que comprueba que los dos supervisores han aprobado las supervisiones respectivas, designará del staff didáctico del ILAP y/o del Consejo, dos entrevistadores para estudiar y evaluar el Material clínico comentado. Dicha evaluación incluirá una entrevista con el candidato para discutir el material y los comentarios. Los entrevistadores contarán con la evaluación conceptual de los supervisores y elevarán al Director Asociado en Formación en Seminarios y Supervisiones un informe final con recomendaciones, que podrá concluir que considera suficiente el trayecto de supervisiones realizado por el candidato o recomendar un nuevo proceso de supervisión con las razones de esa recomendación. El Director Asociado de Formación en Supervisiones con el Consejo del ILAP tomará la decisión final.
Los supervisores serán Miembros de la API en funciones didácticas definitiva o transitoria autorizadas por el Consejo del ILAP o miembros del Staff o el Consejo del ILAP. Elevación de la propuesta a Miembro Directo de la API, al Comité Ejecutivo de la API.
Una vez aprobado el Plan de Seminarios y sus Notas escritas, así como las supervisiones curriculares y el material clínico comentado, el candidato solicitará al Director Asociado de Formación en Seminarios y Supervisiones y al Director Asociado de Formación y Promociones, autorización para presentar un Trabajo teórico-clínico. Con la autorización, los Directores mencionados designarán un tribunal de analistas del Staff y/o del Consejo para discutir y evaluar ese trabajo, así como para evaluar todo el trayecto de la formación. El tribunal elevará a los directores una recomendación respecto de si proponer ahora o posponer la recomendación a la membresía directa de la API. La resolución final la tomará el Consejo del ILAP y a través del Director Asociado de Formación en Promociones realizará la propuesta al Comité Ejecutivo de la API.
En la evaluación final se tomará en cuenta, además, si el candidato ha desarrollado una actividad comprometida en su grupo de formación y en la participación de todas las actividades del ILAP, cursos, escuelas, seminarios, etc., así como en eventos regionales de otras instituciones de la API, FEPAL, e internacionales de la API. _________ Las directivas expuestas serán la guía general de la Formación en el ILAP. La consideración de las especiales circunstancias de la formación en países donde no hay instituciones de la API ni analistas de la API, a las que se agregan dificultades particulares en las comunicaciones, locomoción, inserciones laborales y sus incidencias económicas, determinarán que para que la formación sea posible y siempre buscando los mejores Standard posibles, el Consejo manejará con plasticidad y considerando la singularidad de cada situación, la aplicación de estas directivas. Solo se podrán alterar o modificar estas reglas generales, cuando sea imposible su aplicación y cuando la alternativa se considere aceptable como criterio formativo. En todos los casos se hará un seguimiento y una evaluación de los resultados de estas modificaciones, que se informarán fundamentadamente.

Directives ILAP´s Provisional Directives for Psychoanalytic Training (approved by ILAP´s Board Meeting held in Rio de Janeiro in November 2006). The Latin American Institute of Psychoanalysis (ILAP) will train psychoanalysts to be proposed as Direct Members of the International Psychoanalytic Association, founded by Sigmund Freud in 1906. ILAP holds its action within those Latin American countries where there are no IPA FEPAL Component Psychanalytic Societies. Those interested in training as IPA psychoanalysts have then two options¨;
a) To be accepted by a foreign IPA Psychoanalytic Institute and fulfill the requirements that Institute has in order to become Member of that Affiliated Society, which would also make them Members of the IPA. To do this, the candidate would have to move to that other country so as to be trained.
b) To be admitted in the Latin American Institute of Psychanalysis (ILAP) so that once fully trained the candidate could be proposed as Direct Member through the IPA´s Executive Committee.. ILAP will select the applicants for admission, will train them and will propose those who have satisfactorily fulfilled the training scheme to the IPA´s Direct Membership. Training Foundations ILAP shares the general and main foundations held by all IPA´s Training Institutes, beyond the quantitative and/or qualitative differences among them. Those shared foundations, which arose in the Institute of Berlin in 1920, are based on the articulation of three main elements:
a) The candidate´s personal analysis
b) Theoretical training at seminars
c) The supervision at the beginning of the psychoanalytic practice Unlike training in other disciplines, in Psychoanalysis, personal analysis, which takes you through the experience of unravelling the unconscious, is a necessary condition, previous to theoretical and clinical training. However, the singularity and privacy of this analytical experience, demands the inexistence of any kind of institutional or informal relationship between the candidate´s personal analyst and ILAP,concerning training.
ILAP only requires a minimum of formal elements regarding that analysis:
a) that it is carried out by an analyst authorised by ILAP for that function.
b) That it is carried out with a high frequency, that is to say in habitual terms (not in shuttle analysis) a frequency of three or more weekly sessions, each of them held on a different day and lasting between 45 and 50 minutes.
c) That the candidate keeps training in ILAP at least until their first curricular supervision has been approved. ILAP will make every effort to provide and demand basic aspects for someone to train as an analyst, concerning both personal analysis and theoretical and clinical training. It is clear that the personal attitude towards training in all those areas mentioned, is a permanent commitment of every psychoanalyst. Therefore, the required personal analysis does not have a fixed ending date, since it is understood that it is a question to be worked out by the analysand and the analyst within the analysis. In this sense, it is understood that those who finish their training in the ILAP and become IPA´s Direct Members, first by forming an IPA Study Group, then a Provisional Society and finally a definitive one, will have a permanent training attitude. This will imply the supervision of analysis cases, the presentation of clinical material for group discussion at regional or international events, the interest in reading papers and books about Psychoanalysis as well as in presenting psychoanalytical papers, and a personal attitude towards the research into the unconscious, renewed whenever necessary with the help of re- analysis. Admission to ILAP It is understood that the interest in training as a psychoanalyst must be based on a certain knowledge of what psychoanalysis implies, its practice as well as the personal reasons for that interest.
The applicant must have a university degree, which according to the legislation of each country could or could not limit itself to those graduated in Medicine and Psychology.
He/She should apply formally to ILAP´s Secretary by letter addressed to the Associated Training Director in charge of Admission, Training Analysis and Loans.. The latter might then have one or more informative interviews about training and psychoanalytic practice, and about the way the individual analysis might be carried out, in the sense of informing the applicant about the possible ways to accede to an analysis which fulfills ILAP´s requrements, the possibilities of getting a loan or other facilities that might make it feasible. During such interviews, the Associated Director mentioned might get formal or personal elements about the applicant which would enable the orientation or re-orientation of the application.
Once the analysis has started and only a year after its beginning, the applicant will be in formal conditions to ask the Associated Director mentioned (Admission and Personal Analysis) for admission interviews to ILAP, who will appoint two training analysts from ILAP´s Board or staff to carry out those interviews. It is clear that ILAP fixes one year as the minimum time required since the beginning of the personal analysis in order to be fully qualified to ask the Institute for admission interviews. However, the end of the analysis should be a decision actually taken by the applicant after having worked it out in their analysis. Personal Analysis The analyses authorised by ILAP should fulfill the following conditions: • They should be carried out by Training Analysts in IPA Component Institutions and authorised by ILAP´s Board as T-A of ILAP, or be carried out by analysts who have a training function awarded by ILAP´Board.
• ILAP´s Board could award the training function to an analyst who is an IPA Member under conditions the Board will study , and determine in each case the conditions and terms of such appointment.
• The analyses will be of a high frequency and according to the existing realities in the IPA Training Institutes, to the prevailing models within the IPA, and to the Latin American experience in this sense.It is, therefore, understood that the frequency should not imply less than three weekly sessions. Furthermore, it is recommendable that, if possible, the frequency be even higher, at least during some parts of the analysis. Beyond the contextual reasons which might make it difficult, a psychoanalysis needs to be an intense experience in transference which undoubtedly implies a high weekly frequency, continuity and prolongation in time.
• The sessions will last between 45 and 50 minutes and will be held on different days. The instrumentation difficulties of an analysis with the above mentioned characteristics in countries where there are no IPA Institutions and therefore no IPA Training Analysts living in those cities or countries, have brought about different international experiences of shuttle analysis, in-situ or extra-situ or by the analysts travelling to the city of the analyzand-in situ-
In all these cases, the analysis will be carried out by IPA Training Analysts and authorised by ILAP´s Board or by Analysts who are Members of the IPA and to whom ILAP´s Board has awarded that training function as such. The Board needs this function in order to make the analyses feasible when there is no other possibility owing to the inaugural conditions in the place where the training is to be carried out.
Shuttle analyses could be carried out in accordance with the IPA rules, Latin American background experience and that from the Eastern European Institute (PIEE). The sessions will last between 45 and 50 minutes each, up to two daily contiguous sessions could be held, and at least 100 sessions must be held within one year. Seminars Once an applicant is accepted and registered as candidate to Psychoanalyst of ILAP, they would be able to start theoretical and theoretical-clinical Serminars.
ILAP will hold attendance seminars in the countries or nearby areas to the candidates residential places. These will start with intense attendance days which will be followed by another module of distance training (on-line and through audio-conferences and audio-video-conferences) Each seminar will shift between attendance and long-distance training.
The total of theoretical and theoretical-clinical seminars will be set by the Seminars Scheme, which will be established by the Associated Director of Training in Seminars and Courses for each school year. Attendance training seminars and courses will also be held during the summer-winter Schools and in intense days organised by the Institutes of Psychoanalysis of IPA-FEPAL Component Societies. Seminar Evaluation The Training Analysts will evaluate the candidate´s commitment, reading and performance during each seminar. In each seminar(module) the candidate will make a ´note´ consisting of a reflection about a point or question he/she has chosen to develop as written work (three to six pages). These notes will be evaluated by each Training Analyst.
Out of the seminar performance and written note, the training analyst will make for each candidate a final evaluation of the seminar , which will consist of a performance concept, a conclusion: pass or fail and, if necessary, recommendations. This evaluation will be communicated to the Candidate and sent to the Associated Director of Training in Seminars in order to be filed in the Candidate´s folder.
Failed seminars will not be taken into account regarding the curriculum. However, two failed seminars will imply the Board´s re-considering the training of the candidate. Supervisions Once admitted in ILAP, registered as Candidate and once four theoretical seminars have been passed , the Candidate will be able to apply to the Training Director of Seminars and Supervisions for the beginning of their first curricular supervision analysis.In that sense the Associated Director will appoint two interviewers from ILAP´s Board or Staff to interview the Candidate and evaluate whether it is convenient or not to start then their first curricular supervision.
Two curricular supervisions of two analysis with a frequency of not fewer than three sessions per week of 45 or 50 minutes each in different days are necessary. The supervisions will be held weekly, through attendance meetings not less than 30% of an eighty-hours total (two school years) for each supervision( a minimum of twenty-four attendance hours which can be carried out in short intensive periods) One of the analysis of supervision will be of an adult with psychic neurotic structure. The other one could be of another adult patient or of an adolescent.
In case the candidate would like to do the Training in Child Psychoanalysis, he should have to do a further supervision with a child, with three weekly sessions during a year(forty supervisions between the attendance ones and those via audio) Supervision Evaluation Each supervisor will make a conceptual evaluation of the supervision and will provide a result: pass or fail.The Candidate will present to the Associated Director of Seminars and Supervisions some clinical material about one of the supervised analysis he has carried out, with comments. The presentation will consist in a brief presentation of both interviews of the start of analysis, of the meaningful living history in the view of the exposition and will transcribe one or even two full sessions, which he/she will later comment. This will not be longer than ten pages.Once the Associated Director of Training in Supervisions has proof that both Supervisors have approved the corresponding supervisions, he will appoint from ILAP´s Training Staff and /or Board,two interviewers to study and evaluate the clinical material commented.. Such evaluation will include an interview with the Candidate in order to discuss the material and the comments. The interviewers will count with the Supervisors´ conceptual evaluation, who will raise a final report with recommendations to the Associated Director of Training, Seminars and Supervisions. This report could conclude that it considers the supervisions course of development enough or recommend a new process of supervision explaining the reasons for such recommendation. The Associated Director of Training in Supervisions together with ILAP´s Board will make the final resolution.
The Supervisors should be IPA Members with full training functions or transitorial ones awarded by ILAP´s Board, members of the staff or of ILAP´s Board. Raising the proposal as IPA Direct Member to the IPA´s Executive Committee Once the Seminars Scheme and its Written Notes have been approved as well as the curricular supervisions and the commented clinical material, the candidate will apply to the Associated Director of Training , Seminars and Supervisions and to the Associated Director of Training and Promotions, for authorisation to present a theoretical-clinical paper. With such authorisation, the above mentioned Directors will appoint from the staff and/ or Board a committee of analysts to discuss and evaluate such paper, and also to evaluate the whole training´s course of development . The Committee will raise to the Directors a recommendation as to whether to propose now now or postpone the recommendation to the IPA´s Direct Membership. The final resolution will be made by ILAP´s Board and the Associated Director of Training and Promotions will make the proposal to the IPA´s Executive Committee.
The candidate´s commitment to their training group and their full participation in ILAP´s activities,courses, schools, seminars, etc., as well as that in regional events by other IPA - FEPAL institutions and those international ones by the IPA, will be taken into account in the final evaluation.
The above mentioned directives will be the general guide to training in the ILAP. The consideration of special circumstances of training in countries where there are neither IPA instititutions nor IPA Analysts, to which other particular difficulties are added such as those in communication, transport, laboral insertion and its economical incidences, will determine that in order to make the training feasible and always in the search of the best possible standards, the Board will manage the application of such directives with flexibility, and always considering the singularity of each situation,. These general rules will only be possible to be altered or modified when it is impossible their application and if the alternative is considered acceptable regarding training criteria. In every case there will be tracking and evaluation of the results concerning such modifications, which will be reported and founded.
